How to store greenhouse glass correctly has become a problem that must be faced when the projects get delayed, but glass is already on site. PLANTI provides the following practical advice to ensure the glass remains intact during storage:
1. Complete seal of package
First, pay attention to the tightness of packages. A good seal can effectively avoid the contact of air, moisture, and other contaminants, thereby keeping the glass clean.
2. Dry storage environment
Humidity is a crucial factor affecting the long-term storage of glass. The glass should be stored dry without corrosive gas or liquid. The delivery packaging shall not be exposed to water at any time. Wet environments may cause problems such as mildew spots on glass surfaces, coating oxidization of coated glass, corrosion, etc.
3. Storage off the ground
The glass should be placed at least 10 cm above the ground to prevent moisture return.
4. Avoid direct sunlight
If the sunlight hits the glass directly, it may cause uneven temperature on the glass surface, resulting in corrosion, especially when the inside package is not dry enough.
5. Take measures to prevent rain and snow
If conditions permit, glass should be stored in a warehouse. If the glass packages are exposed to rain and snow for a long time, they may get damaged and, therefore, bring water inside the boxes.
6. Warning signs to avoid collision.
Putting anti-collision warning signs on the packaging can effectively avoid damage during transportation.
Knowing the correct glass storage skills is a pivotal link to reduce loss and ensure the smooth progress of the project. You are welcome to share your experience and insights. Let us make progress together!
